Statement on the Anti-Communist Resolution Adopted by OSCE - July 2009

The Editorial in this issue of NSC has our opinion on this statement. Here we print the Statement sponsored by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). This Statement was adopted by 62 Communist and Workers Parties of the world.

"We strongly condemn the adoption last July 3, 2009 at the regular Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vilnius, Lithuania, a new anti-communist resolution titled "Divided Europe Reunited".

This Resolution contains gross distortions of history and denies the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over fascism. This resolution equates communism and fascism. Those who do sc fail to remember that it was the Soviet Union that made the largest contribution to liberation of Europe from fascism. The authors of this resolution - those falsifiers of history - pretend to have forgotten who gave away Czechoslovakia in 1938 I Munich, which led to the elimination of the state and to the fascist enslavement of the Czech and Slovak peoples. We witness the actual rehabilitation on the Nazis in a number of countries, including Lithuania which hosted this OSCE session.

We cannot allow anyone to insult the memory of the anti-fascists participants also in the Resistance movements, who lost their lives in the fight against Nazism!

Let us rely to the provocateurs and anti-communists through our joint struggle for workers' rights and for socialism!

An excellent statement that should be a call for UNITY of all those parties that signed this Statement against the growing danger and promotion of Fascism by the present powers that be!

Why cannot these dedicated 62 Communist and Workers Parties join together into a mighty force and form a Communist International? That is the ONLY ANSWER!
