Tikhonov George I.

On March 28, 2009 when he was 76 years old The Soviet people lost one of their best sons, Georgi Ivanovich Tikhonov.

His body was found in his burnt down home on the outskirts of Moscow.

All of his life was devoted to serving the USSR and the Soviet people in building Socialism. After the collapse of the USSR, all of his energies were towards the resurrection of the USSR and Socialism.

He was an Honored Soviet Energy Engineer who was born on March 18, 1934. He passed with Honors the Moscow Institute of Engineers of railways and he also finished the Agricultural Academy. He was a renowned specialist in the construction of Hydro-Electric Stations, not only in the USSR, but also in many countries of the world.

From 1981 to 1984 he was Deputy Minister of Energy of the USSR, and then he became the Chief of all Hydro-Stations in the Soviet Union.

He was three times elected to the Supreme Soviet in Tadjikistan SSR. In 1989 he was elected as Deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He was also elected to the Russian Duma after the collapse of the USSR.

Comrade Tikhonov was one of the founders of the Soviet Society for Friendship with Foreign Countries, a partner of the International Council for Friendship and Solidarity with Soviet People. He was also its First President.

On his initiative there was started to be published the Russian Edition of Northstar Compass. His whole life was devoted to Socialism and struggled for unity of all communist parties in former USSR as well as internationally on the principles of Marxism-Leninism.

Glory to his memory and he will always live in our hearts.
